Dundee United FC manager, Jim Goodwin, has been named the Scottish Championship Glen’s Manager of the Month for October 2023 – his second successive award in the division.
Goodwin’s side were unbeaten in October, with wins over Partick Thistle, Arbroath and Airdrieonians, as well as an away draw at Raith Rovers - scoring 14 goals with the loss of one during the month.
The former St Mirren and Aberdeen manager has guided the Tannadice side to an unbeaten start to the league season, with eight wins and four draws from the 12 fixtures played so far, and they are currently four points clear of Raith Rovers at the top of the table.

“October was another terrific period for Jim Goodwin and Dundee United, as they continued their unbeaten start to the league season with some strong performances both at home and away.
“The point at a packed Stark’s Park was important, as were the away wins at Partick Thistle and Airdrieonians, and our judging panel were impressed by the way in which United seem to be getting it right at both ends of the pitch at the moment.

“The award is great recognition for the team, but we wouldn’t have had this success we have had without the collective effort of everybody behind the scenes, the staff and all the players working together and pulling in the right direction.
“It was a difficult month when you looked at the calendar, but there has been a lot of good football, scoring six in one game and five in another as well as looking solid defensively, which again just shows the hard work the players are putting in.
“We are pleased with the start we have made to the season, but that’s all it is, just a start and we have to maintain those levels of consistency and make sure we have another good month in November.”
