Dundee United FC manager, Jim Goodwin, has been named the Scottish Championship Glen’s Manager of the Month for September 2023.

Goodwin’s side picked up ten points from a possible twelve during the month, with wins over Queen’s Park, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Airdrieonians and a draw with Greenock Morton to open up a one-point lead over Raith Rovers at the top of the table.

The former St Mirren and Aberdeen manager has guided the Tannadice side to an unbeaten start to the league season with five wins and two draws from the seven fixtures played so far.

Colin Matthews, CEO of Glen’s owner the Loch Lomond Group, said:

“Jim Goodwin has led Dundee United to a very strong set of results in September as they look to get back to the Premiership at the first time of asking.

“The Championship is once again proving to be an extremely competitive division with each of the sides capable of beating each other on any given matchday, so the fact the Tangerines have stayed unbeaten this far is a testament to the work being done by Jim and his backroom team.

“My congratulations to Jim, his coaching staff and all involved with Dundee United on picking up the Scottish Championship Glen’s Manager of the Month award for September.”

Jim Goodwin, manager of Dundee United FC, said:

“I’m very grateful to those who voted for me as Glen’s Manager of the Month for September. I’m not a huge fan of individual awards in team sports but the biggest thing for me is that it’s recognition for the hard work that’s been done behind the scenes collectively.

“I’ve got a great backroom team who work tirelessly during the week to make sure we put the right game plan together for the weekend and then you rely on those players to get the job done. So as much as I’m very grateful for the award, I would accept it on behalf of the group because it very much is a team effort.

“It’s nice recognition for the hard work we’ve done up to now but it’s very early days. Nothing for us to get too carried away with, we just have to make sure that we’re carrying on the same form against Raith on Saturday.”
