Dundee United FC manager, Jim Goodwin, has been awarded the Scottish Championship Glen’s Manager of the Season after securing his side the league title and promotion to the Premiership.

Goodwin, who was appointed as permanent manager of the Tannadice Park club ahead of the 2023/24 season, secured 22 wins out of 36 matches, nine draws and just five loses. Scoring a total of 73 goals this season, Dundee United finished six points clear at the top of the leaderboard, guaranteeing Goodwin’s side promotion to the Premiership.

Goodwin also picked up three Scottish Championship Glen’s Manager of the Month awards during the season, for September, October and April.

Colin Matthews, CEO of Glen’s owner the Loch Lomond Group, said:

“Since Goodwin’s appointment as permanent manager, Dundee United has flourished, with the team’s final 4-1 victory over Partick Thistle ensuring they finished a memorable campaign in style.

“Dundee United has faced stiff competition this season in the challenging Championship but Jim’s determination to get the club to the Premiership was clear from the outset, with an impressive run of 14 consecutive wins across the opening league matches.

“These results are a true testament to the hard work delivered by Jim and his coaching staff. My congratulations go to Jim and everyone at Tannadice for a fantastic season. Jim is a worthy winner of the Scottish Championship Glen’s Manager of the Season award, and I wish the club all the best in the Premiership next season.”

Jim Goodwin, Manager, Dundee United FC, said:

“It's a real honour to be named the Glen's Vodka Championship Manager of the Season.

"As with any individual accolade, these awards are for everybody at the football club and represent the hard work and collective effort we’ve all shown this season. Without that, it would not be possible for us to succeed.

“The scenes at the end of our final home match were something really special, and I’m glad that the occasion could be enjoyed with families, friends and our supporters. Gaining promotion at the first time of asking was a tremendous achievement - and one everyone connected with the club should be proud of. As we all know, it’s never about an individual in this game. “I’d like to personally thank the supporters for their tremendous backing and I’m sure everyone is looking forward to the new season getting underway!”
